Join HumanitiesDC in celebrating our city from an international, national, local, and hyperlocal dimension. This year we focus on the stories that shaped 1968. The world changed in 1968 through storytelling, often in music, advocating for change in our neighborhoods and around the world. This special event celebrates the stories and hopes of that pivotal year, as history comes to life. One World Youth Project Inspires Action

One World Youth Project (OWYP) is a DC non-profit that trains university students to collaborate with middle school teachers around the world to build generations of discerning, empathetic, and empowered global citizens. Humanities DC has funded a number of collaborations between this outstanding organization and other cultural organizations including Teaching for Change and Split this Rock. The work of OWYP is inspiring not only to the middle school students it impacts the most, but also the teachers, staff, and university
