Congrats to Recent Grant Award Recipients

In April we awarded $54,000 in grant funding for 17 exciting projects that will take place throughout the city in 2016. Join us in congratulating the dedicated public humanists bringing these films, oral history projects, exhibits, discussions, and other experiences to the people of Washington, DC.   Major Grants Washington Architectural Foundation, Giants of Washington Architecture – The product of this grant project will be a minimum of 3 segments of professionally produced videos intended to educate a broad audience

Sign our Petition for Mayor Bowser to Increase Funding to the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities and HumanitiesDC

Please sign the petition to tell Mayor Bowser that we need to increase funding for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to $20 million (up from her proposed $16.9 million) for FY16 and $500,000 (up from $170,000) in that budget should be set aside for The Humanities Council of Washington DC (HumanitiesDC). This important funding source is what HumanitiesDC uses to provide grants to new and small non-profits, DC residents and local historians to share and preserve their stories
