We’ve Moved to the Historic Uline Arena!
Or as some Washingtonians insist – “The Washington Coliseum.”
After many years, we’ve left our U Street home and moved across town to the Uline Arena. Built in 1941 by Migiel Uline, an entrepreneur who specialized in ice-making. The site as an ice rink which held numerous ice sporting events, including hockey and the fourth annual touring ice skating carnival, starring Olympic ice skating champion Sonja Henie.
After WWII, the venue began hosting events beyond ice-sports – most notably the Beatles first concert in the United States. when the Beatles played their very first concert in the United States. Today, the venue serves multiple purposes – including as an incubator for businesses and nonprofit organizations.
