The exhibit consists of five panels that describe the congregation’s founding, the establishment of the original synagogue, the history of the surrounding neighborhood, architectural history, and President Ulysses S. Grant’s attendance at the dedication ceremony.

The exhibit places the circumstances surrounding the congregation’s creation into historical context, and places the structure itself into the Washington’s historic cityscape.

The panels feature image reproductions, quotes, and archival document reproductions.
