Applications Due May 12th for the DC Community Heritage Project
The DC Community Heritage Project (DCCHP) is local history at the grassroots level, placing control of the narrative in the hands of the people who create it. Designed to provide support to community leaders interested in preserving the history of their neighborhoods, DCCHP empowers local Washingtonians to take the lead on preserving, sharing, and celebrating the collective memory of their communities. Past grantees have gathered oral histories, created videos, held festivals, and developed historical tours and educational materials.
